Methodology for Developing Enterprise Architecture
The IAM Company focuses on Enterprise Architecture with the goal of creating architectural frameworks and plans to support strategic business plans. The execution and deployments based on these plans enable businesses to acquire a competitive advantage with tangible and intangible (but measurable) benefits.
Our overall approach to developing an Enterprise Architecture begins with a Discovery Phase. The initial focus is to identify the strategic business requirements. The Architectural Development Cycle is initiated based on these strategic requirements. The current architecture is captured to establish the foundation for prospective architectural migrations to the Target Architecture.
The Definition Phase focuses on creating detailed technical designs for architectural specifications intimately aligned to the detailed requirements of the business. The target architecture is defined independent of the existing environment, however, there are a plethora of relevant decisions and major work packages required for migration. Thorough evaluation and categorization of detailed efforts (solution opportunities) are required to create a prioritized plan of initiatives.
The Execution Phase focuses on the development and execution of detailed plans to support the various initiatives defined during the Definition Phase. Each significant accomplishment is a part of the evolving Enterprise Architecture that will continue to change based on the needs of the business.
